2012 Was a classic Eastern Washington growing season. Summer was warm with no prolonged, excessive heat events. Late summer and early autumn brought on slightly cooler daytime highs and a significant diurnal shift, a pattern that continued well into October. The warm temperatures were optimal for growing Malbec.
The 2009 vintage of ANVIL is a solid, classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes, but exhibits a seldom-encountered perfection of style and balance. Cellaring will allow the wine to gain complexity.
