We are excited about our first effort at this wonderful, stylistic Gigondas-inspired 2011 Grenache-Syrah-Mourvèdre (GSM) blend! Winemaker Marie-Eve Gilla has always been fascinated by this combination of grapes that produces ripe and full-bodied yet spicy, supple wines enjoyable in any setting.
Despite delayed ripening due to an unusually cool 2011 Spring and Summer, late Fall was nearly optimal. The warm, dry days allowed prolonged hang time, which produced balanced, elegant wines with lower alcohol and higher acidity.
Syrah: 100% Boushey Vineyard (Yakima Valley)
Grenache: 50% Boushey Vineyard (Yakima Valley); 50% Lonesome Springs Vineyard (Yakima Valley)
Mourvèdre: 100% Kiona Vineyard (Red Mountain)
The combination of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre produces ripe and full-bodied spicy and supple wine.
A big, sensuous GSM that is full and rich with an encompassing mouthfeel.
