Formerly known as Ambiance, our lovely Rhone-inspired white wine is the same wine you know and love, but with a new name: Façon Blanc. Façon is a French word meaning "the fashion, style of expression, or way one does something". Our 2013 Façon Blanc inspired by our love of France's Southern Rhone Valley, is a lovely Summer sipper that pairs beautifully with picnic fare and a variety of seafood.
2013 was much warmer than usual and our challenge with white varietals was to ensure we picked early, retaining grape freshness. We carefully waited for the full flavor development while avoiding the bitter phenols caused by sunburn.
Roussanne: 66% Den Hoed (Yakima Valley); 34% Crawford Vineyard (Yakima Valley)
Grenache Blanc: 100% Boushey Vineyard (Yakima Valley)
Viognier: 100% Francisca's Vineyard (Walla Walla Valley)
Marsanne: 100% Boushey Vineyard (Yakima Valley)
The 2013 vintage is an elegant, complex blend: the Roussanne, feminine and ethereal, leads with full-flavored graciousness; the Grenache Blanc is boisterous with loads of acid and zest freshness; Viognier contributes a luscious mouth-feel and big apricot marmalade flavors; and the Marsanne delivers great weight and structure to the overall blend. Aged in neutral French Burgundian oak.
A beautiful, full-bodied wine with an elegant, lingering finish.
