Firm, structured, genuine and age-worthy; this wine is testament to the patience and restraint used in the vineyard and winemaking process. 2013 Was a very warm growing season in Washington State and we had a near perfect finish to the growing season with a big increase in flavors and concentration as the nights started to cool. A perfect finish for late-ripening Cabernet.
Bigger and bolder underlines our commitment to work with Walla Walla fruit which is more mature and available now compared to when we started the winery 15 years ago. Minnick Hills and Pepper Bridge vineyards in Walla Walla, are VINEA certified and align with our commitment to work with vineyards where management has the utmost respect of the land. Birch Creek Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are big and bold, while Petit Verdot from Dionysus Vineyard adds smoothness and dimension.
We work with select vineyards to source Cabernet from key areas throughout Walla Walla and Columbia Valley. We keep all vineyard lots separate and use new oak sparingly to allow the fruit character to shine through. When the time is right, we spend time and careful attention to blend a single, exceptional wine from the different lots.
