Our 100% Barbera aged in 100% Neutral French Oak barrels provide an exquisite incite to fresh, expansive, and true to varietal wines. Sagemoor Vineyards really helped hit this wine out of the park with ripe strawberry, cocoa, vanilla notes that expand on the freshness in the glass. Every sip, you are invited to fresh cherry, pomegranate, and defined grippy tannins that finish neatly for a savory medium length finish.
The summer of 2018 was one of the hottest years on record throughout the eastern side of Washington. We experienced several weeks of 95-degree and higher temperatures; at long last, a cooling trend arrived in August. The stretch of hot weather allowed an extended hang-time, resulting in appealing, complex flavor. This vintage turned out to be truly remarkable, producing lots with bright, fresh notes and seemingly innate balance.
We are always excited to see this varietal come into the winery and this year we were truly excited to bring in the freshness of this wine. Picked a little earlier than usual, with the help of the 2018 growing season, we harnessed the acid and pure Barbera notes from Sagemoor Vineyards. This Barbera harvest in particular the berries came in rather larger than usual but every drop of juice was worth it. Any pasta dish would be so thankful to be paired with this wine.
