Walla Walla Valley

5 acres sourced

Why we love it

Located at the southern end of the Walla Walla Valley near the Walla Walla River, Birch Creek has an elevation of 850 feet.

Grapes we source

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot

Notes on Terroir

Deep, fertile soils of sandy loam created by the back water deposits of the Missoula floods. It also has random spots of calcium carbonate. The warm temperatures ripen the grapes earlier than other Walla Walla vineyards.

I really like our Merlot that comes from Birch Creek. It ripens a little later than our other Merlot sources and the resulting contribution is softer tannins, and lots of red cherry flavor.
