2008 BlackSmith Merlot

BlackSmith is Forgeron Cellars line of outstanding and affordable wines. To get this combination of quality and value, we source our grapes from different varieties and vineyards and then, with skillful winemaking, craft them into the highest possible quality vintages.

Our Merlot is from unique vineyard sites located throughout the Columbia Valley. Utilizing different locations allows us to focus on the terroir of each vineyard and bring the distinct characteristics of the fruit to the forefront. Dark aromas of cigar box, cedar and spice are followed by rich flavors of black cherries, smokey roasted figs & dates, finishing with lingering black pepper and brown sugar.

Enjoy with classic Boeuf Bourgignon or grilled Lamb with a Merlot reduction sauce.
