2010 Late Harvest Riesling (375ml)
Our first Late Harvest Riesling with natural Botrytis (aka "Noble Rot") has proven to be worth the hard work and dedication. Using grapes from the Dionysus Vineyard near Pasco overlooking the Columbia River, the naturally-occurring, beneficial mold Botrytis brings rich, unique, concentrated scents and flavors to this Riesling.
The nose on this gorgeous wine opens with the classic aromas of caramel, apricot syrup and honey with nuances of mandarin oranges and pear. Once in the mouth, you experience how complex this wine is with flavors of ambrosia and lychee laced with white peach, apricot, cinnamon, Bosch pears and a full, rich, viscous mouth-feel along with a lingering finish that refuses to end!
Our 2010 Late Harvest Riesling would be the perfect accompaniment to a cheese course with Stilton, Rogue River Blue, Dolce de Bourgogne Triple Creme, Marcona almonds and macadamia nuts. For those of you who appreciate the beauty of a dessert wine, try it with apple tarte tartin, pear crisp, or classic crème Brulée. Of course, you can also enjoy it simply as dessert in a glass as it is perfectly satisfying all by itself.
Santé!
