2009 Syrah
After a cool windy spring reduced the fruit set created a smaller than average crop, a very hot summer led into a dry and warm September that created an earlier than usual harvest. In the end, the vines presented us with raw materials that were not only bursting with potential, they were nearly perfect and showed great concentration and aging possibilities.
This is a big, sensuous Syrah, with tannins, chewy fruit and layers of intensity that just won't quit. Throughout the wine, you can taste the softness and ripeness from our Walla Walla (Les Collines) vineyard while dark fruit, pepper and crushed dried rosemary reflect the influence of the arid Boushey Birdhouse (Yakima Valley) site.
Try our 2009 Syrah with a delicious grilled Portobello Mushroom or an Olive Tapenade & baguette to pamper yourself or to impress your friends!
Santé!
