2008 Late Harvest Semillon (375ml)
Our first attempt at a Late Harvest Semillon has proven to be worth all the hard work and dedication. Harvesting on Halloween always brings a bit of superstition and ghostly ambience to the wine. However, we were blessed with very friendly ghosts who like to indulge in sweet surprises at the end of a hauntingly good meal!
The nose on this very pretty wine has delicate nuances of honey, orange blossom and pear. Once in the mouth, you experience how rich this wine really is with flavors of baked apples laced with cinnamon, pear tart, lemon zest and cotton candy.
Our 2008 Late Harvest Semillon would be the perfect accompaniment to a cheese course with Stilton and Oregon Blue, almonds and macadamia nuts. For those of your who appreciate the beauty of a dessert wine, try it with apple tarte tartin, pear crisp, or Crème Bruleé. Of course, you can also enjoy it as dessert in a glass as it is perfectly satisfying all by itself.
