2008 Barbera - Sagemoor Vineyard
Our 2008 Sagemoor Vineyard Barbera is one of our favorite exotic varietals & we always look forward to this refreshing summer-friendly red wine. Always a limited production, this bright beauty is built for enjoying on the front-porch swing!
This vintage was aged in 100% French oak and this is reflected on the nose, with aromas of cigar box, white pepper and cinnamon supporting an intense blast of juicy berries that almost makes you swoon. Your first sip brings to mind luscious boysenberry cobbler with subtle hints of vanilla, cinnamon and a creamy mouth-feel. This juicy wine is luxurious with the full flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and subtle pie spice. The finish is long, smooth and lush, balanced with lively acids and tannins.
When it comes to food pairing, flank steak tacos with salsa fresco or a cumin roasted pork tenderloin with fruit chutney would be delicious.
Santé,
Marie-Eve Gilla, Winemaker
