2006 Merlot
Mother Nature provided us with the perfect growing season; a wetter than normal spring followed by hot sunny days throughout the summer months. This allowed the fruit to fully ripen and show its true beauty as a varietal.
Our 2006 Merlot is rich with abundant aromas of clove, boysenberry, lilac and brown sugar. It has an amazing mix of concentrated ripe fruit, spicy notes of mineral and earth combined with lively acids which leads to a lengthy finish of elegance and finesse.
The best part of our 2006 Merlot is how enjoyable it is now, especially with a hearty bean soup and sausage or polenta with Manchego and herb crusted pork loin. However, don't be afraid of putting a few bottles in the cellar. Our 2006 Merlot is definitely age-worthy and will be even more phenomenal given a few additional years in the bottle.
