2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
Forgeron Cellars has a tradition of allowing our wines to "come of age" letting their distinct personality shine prior to release. Our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception, having four years to develop. As with all teenagers, it's a bit rambunctious in the beginning with big, bright fruit. However, it already shows the promise of incredible power and finesse a few more years of aging will bring.
Aromas of bright blueberries and red currants are accentuated by the richness and spice of the French oak. We added a small amount of Malbec to intensify the layers of pomegranate, boysenberry and cocoa bean, while hints of spicy cinnamon harmonize with the bright and youthful acidity.
We all love the marriage of our best culinary endeavors with an incredible wine that will leave you with an indelible memory. Enjoy our 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon with a beef tenderloin topped with caramelized Walla Walla sweet onions and sautéed Morel mushrooms. It's a match made in Heaven!
Santé!
