2005 Cabernet Franc
If you’re looking for an intense wine that is incredibly filling and satisfying, then search no more. Made from 100% Cabernet Franc from Alder Ridge Vineyard, our 2005 Cab Franc was aged 22 months in oak allowing it to fully express its flamboyant personality.
The color is inky, reminiscent of blackberry jam. On the nose, there are so many aromas, you wonder if your nose might become overworked just savoring each and every one. There are floral notes of hibiscus and perfume, followed by fruits of black cherry and raspberry, then finishes with black peppercorn and spice. Once you take your first sip, your head will spin from the pure joy of the experience. This is a rich, full-bodied wine yet with a supple, softer side. Experience flavors of fig, gooseberry, amaretto and coca bean combined with great acidity and a very long finish.
With barbeque season upon us, a juicy steak with grilled vegetables makes a great pairing. Country-style pork ribs or a marinated flank steak, thinly sliced in a corn tortilla would be equally satisfying. Just be sure to have an extra bottle on hand, once you open the first one, you will want another!
