The Wine Advocate's David Schildknecht reviews 2010 Late Harvest Riesling

"...one those rare Rieslings outside Germany to demonstrate a remarkable ability to cancel out the effects of residual sugar..."

David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate, December 2012

"From what she reports is the first year in which she as had "genuine" botrytis to work with - here from Sagemoor's Dionysus Vineyard - Gilla's 2010 Riesling Late Harvest Botrytis smells seductively of apricot & pear nectars mingled with honey, all of which reunite on a succulent polished palate where hints of candied lemon rind, cinnamon, & white truffle add complex further allure. Here is one of those rare Rieslings outside Germany to demonstrate a remarkable ability to cancel out the effects of residual sugar, so that the soothing & persistent finish here, while confectionary, is by no means overly sweet. This should remain delightful for at least 6-8 years, but conceivable considerably longer...Drink: 2012-2020."
