2010 Forgeron Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley ($35)

"Composed of 92% Cabernet from the Pepper Bridge, Dionysus & Stone Tree vineyards, plus 8% Stone Tree Malbec, this wine shows a deep, brilliant ruby color & a rich, smoky nose of blackberries, cherries, currants, purple lilac & incense. The dark fruit flavors are thick & chewy, yet focused, marked by notes of black cocoa, licorice, French roast, & variegated earth minerals. The back picks up macerated berries, plum preserves, kirsch liqueur & crème de cassis, followed by moderate oak (41% new French) & chewy sweet-dry tannins on the grainy textured finish. 18.5/20 points."
