Rand Sealey Reviews 2008 Merlot

"The true to variety flavors are redolent of dark roasted fruits, cocoa powder, licorice, cola and coffee bean."

Rand Sealey, Review of Washington Wines, January 2012

Rand Sealey brings 40 years of wine trade experience to keep you informed about the rapidly expanding Washington wine market and industry.

"Dark ruby colored, this wine offers a wild cherry, boysenberry and cassis nose, with scents of mulberry, roasted chestnuts, sandalwood, crushed roses and anise. The true to variety flavors are redolent of dark roasted fruits, cocoa powder, licorice, cola and coffee bean. On the back, the intensity continues, with notes of dried cherries, minerals and earth, and a touch of caramel, followed by fine fruit acids, moderate oak (63% new) and well integrated tannins on the lingering lightly spiced finish." 18.5/20 points.
