2011 Forgeron Cellars Sangiovese, Yakima Valley, Boushey Vineyard ($30)
“This attractively-styled Sangio offers a deep ruby color and enticing aromas of strawberry, cherry, plum, dried roses, tobacco, rosemary and smoldering incense. The medium-bodied flavors are simultaneously velvety and chewy, with notes of black licorice, Florentine chocolate, roast coffee, and alluvial loam and minerals. The back reveals sensations of raspberry liqueur, plum preserves and mocha. Although it registers at .69 g/L the acidity comes on as being moderate and well-integrated, with judicious oak (50% new French) and satiny tannins. The wine exudes elegance throughout, giving it a plus +.” 18.5+/20 Points
