2012 Forgeron Cellars Zinfandel, Columbia Valley, Alder Ridge Vineyard
“Sourced from the Alder Ridge Vineyard, overlooking the Columbia River, this displays a deep ruby color & intense aromas of wild boysenberry, cherry, pomegranate, lavender, brambles & spiced incense. The flavors are bold & well packed with red & blue fruits, cocoa, herbal tea, & Horse Heaven Hills scorched earth & minerals. The wine turns thick & juicy on the back with sensations of dried cherries, raisins & orange peel. The alcohol registers at 15.2%, but is not high for a Zin & is balanced by juicy fruit acids on the lingering allspice dusted ripe tannin finish. 18.5+/20 points.”
