2009 Forgeron Cellars Cabernet Franc, Columbia Valley ($30)

Composed of 49% Weinbau & 26% Alder Ridge Cab Franc & 25% Stone Tree Merlot, this is a tasty wine. It exhibits a deep ruby color & engaging aromas of wild blackberries, cherries, black currants & mulberries, tobacco, lilac & black violets. The dark fruits are ample & well saturated, interlayered with, licorice, Swiss chocolate, French roast & minerally earth. The back picks up notes of roasted berries & nuts, mocha, spiced cherries, crème de cassis, vanilla & graphite, followed by a ripe, grainy tannin finish. 18.5/20 points.
