2012 Merlot review from Wine Advocate

"Sweet black cherries, dried spices, cedar wood and wild herbs all give way to a medium to full-bodied, rounded, ripe and seamlessly textured red that will impress for upward of a decade."

Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate, June 2015

The 2012 Columbia Valley Merlot took some coaxing, but opened up nicely with time in the glass. Sweet black cherries, dried spices, cedar wood and wild herbs all give way to a medium to full-bodied, rounded, ripe and seamlessly textured red that will impress for upward of a decade. Made from 100% Merlot and raised in 40% new French oak, this comes from the Candy Mountain Vineyard (planted in 1998) just outside of Red Mountain, Bacchus Vineyard in Colombia Valley, and Birch Creek Vineyard in Walla Walla. 90 points.
